If you have not toured with us before and are unsure what to expect then the frequently asked questions below should help to put your mind at rest. What pace is the riding?

Generally the people who come on tour with us are more interested in touring rather than racing. If you are seeking 160mph ‘knee-down’ action then this probably isn’t for you. Routes are carefully selected for their scenic beauty and flowing roads. The pace of riding is easy with generous rest stops for photographs and re-grouping. That’s not to say, however, that we don’t enjoy ourselves when conditions allow.

I have never been on tour before - will I hold everybody up?

No, we provide a tour, not a race – there is generally a wide range of experience and riding abilities in the group. You will never be asked to ride beyond your capabilities. However, you owe it to yourself and the others on tour to be a competent rider and ride within your capabilities.

What is the average age of people on tour?

There is a wide range of riders on the tour and people of all ages are welcome.

Do I need to know where I am going?

There are no maps to read, or route directions to follow - you will be guided by the tour leader and follow the beautifully simple “Second-Man Drop-Off” system to ensure you always know the correct way to go (or at least the way everybody else went!) This is not to say the group won’t get lost, we call this “exploring alternatives” (U-turns and occasional off-roading is sometimes necessary.)

Does everybody on the tour all tend to know each other already? (Will we fit in?)

Many of the riders know each other from previous tours, but we always welcome new faces. If you like bikes and enjoy a bit of banter then you’ll fit in just fine.
